New Deputy Headteacher at Pyrcroft Grange Primary School
We would like to warmly welcome Mrs Wand, who will commence her new role as Deputy Headteacher at Pyrcroft Grange Primary School in September 2016.
Please read on to see Mrs Wand's open letter to parents/carers:
I am delighted to introduce myself to you as your new Deputy Headteacher.
I am moving from Goldsworth Primary School in Woking, a large 3 form entry school, where I was a member of the school’s senior management team with responsibilities for, amongst other things, teaching and learning and pupil attainment. I was also the school’s Music Co-ordinator. I have experience of teaching across the age range in primary school as well as teaching in higher education at the start of my career. On a personal note, I am the mother of three boys, all of whom are now at secondary school.
For those of you with long memories, you may remember that my eldest son attended Pyrcroft Grange so the school was a big part of our lives for many years. My son is now 15 and he still speaks very fondly of Pyrcroft and the adults and children that he knew here. I know that Pyrcroft Grange is a place with a strong sense of community, where all children can flourish, and that expectations for all children are high. Having walked around the ordered and stimulating school environment, I am thrilled by the huge strides that the school has taken over the past few years and am excited to be able to work with Mrs Nardoni and the rest of the team to contribute to its continued success.
It is an absolute privilege to have been entrusted with this role and I am looking forward to getting to know you and all of the children at the school.
